Apple s auto control aims for somewhere in the middle. But my question is can this hurt the fan if its spinning almos. Hi all ye i have some temp problems. The cpu fan still went 4000 rpm and the conclusion was that it is a faulty owc cable. The cpu fan will start ramping up speed slowly until it seems to be maxed out around 4000 rpm noisy. I dont care much now about the big sound it makes because i use a headset in game.

To find out if your fans are working at all you can click the custom speed button. Are the fans in your mac or macbook roaring away at full speed making it sound like your computer is getting ready to take off. Here are some simple things you can try that might save you a trip. The odd fan s rpms are strangely high but it s the cpu fan that s out of control. This is what happens every time i restart my imac. It s not the hdd sdd temp sensor by the way since it s not the hdd fan that s spinning that hot but it certainly is one of the other sensors.
